EastEnders actor Adam Woodyatt has revealed that quitting drinking is to thank for his recent three stone weight loss.
The 53-year-old, who took a break from playing Ian Beale in 2021 after turning 36, has been adopting a healthier lifestyle in recent months.
According to The Mirror, avid cyclist Adam has revealed that he now drinks nothing stronger than coffee.

He said: “With quitting alcohol the weight goes down and because the weight goes down it was earlier to cycle so it was easier to stay in shape.”
But Adam, who split from his 22-year-old wife Beverley Sharp in 2020, went on to admit he hadn’t turned his back on booze forever.
Adding: “But at this stage of my life, yes, I am quite happy not to drink. And the result is that I have lost three stones of weight”.

“Until you stop drinking, you don’t realize how much it affects so many things. Now I just drink coffee.”
In recent months, the newly single actor has reportedly grown closer to BBC beautician Claire Martignetti.

A caravan owner at the site where Adam lives told The Sun: ‘Whatever caused the breakdown of his marriage, Adam certainly seems to have moved on now.
“He stayed in his trailer with his new partner. She was seen going in and out the next morning, heading for the toilet blocks.
It comes after the actor recently revealed there were “no plans” for him to return to the iconic soap opera as he travels the country in a new play.

Speaking on Steph’s Packed Lunch, the star who reunites with on-screen wife Laurie Brett in the production, revealed he has “fallen in love with acting again” since returning to the stage.
Adam having appeared in over 3,000 episodes of the show, Steph asked: “Why did you choose to leave? »
Adam replied, “I kind of left, but not left. It’s kind of how the story unfolded… I’m not there.
As rumors swirled about the actor’s impending return, the host asked, “So you can go back?”.
Adam replied, “I could go back and I couldn’t go back!” I do not know. Speculation has been hysterical. I think everyone is always going to speculate. But there are no plans at the moment.
