Kohima Khar Fellowship, in collaboration with Khar Baptist Church, organized a free health mela in Khar village and a dental health camp in Longmisa village on June 25th.
MOKOKCHUNG, JUNE 26 (MExN): Under the initiative of the Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung, the Kohima Khar Fellowship, in collaboration with Khar Baptist Church, organized a free health mela at Khar village and a dental health camp at the national oral health program. dentistry on the theme “Oral health for a healthy life”. at the village of Longmisa on June 25.
The medical team led by Dr. R Chubala Aier, Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung and Dr. Nungsangzulu Walling, Medical Officer, PHC Alongkima provided services such as Dental, ENT, Ophthalmology, General Medicine, Ayush and Orthopaedics. Random blood sugar, hemoglobin and malaria testing, as well as COVID vaccination were also done on site.
The IEC team from the office of the chief medical officer, Mokokchung, delivered a health speech and gave key information on health-related topics. A total of 276 beneficiaries benefited from the medical services provided in the premises of the Church, in the village of Khar and 30 home visits were carried out for the bedridden patients.
Dr. Temjentsungla, Director of Medical Education and his team from the Kohima Health and Family Welfare Branch also attended the Health Mela.
In Longmisa village, Mokokchung district dental surgeons provided dental services such as consultation, free medicine, extraction and restoration. The team of dental surgeons led by Dr. Taliwaba Ao, Senior Dental Surgeon, IMDH Mokokchung, and assisted by the Community Health Worker, Longmisa HWC and his staff treated 82 people who availed of the services provided. It included 36 extraction cases and 40 restoration cases.
Dr. Sentirenla Jamir, Junior Dental Surgeon, IMDH Mokokchung delivered a health speech based on the importance of the theme and IEC materials on the harmful effects of tobacco were also distributed to beneficiaries.
In both camps, the active participation of the village council and the church was observed, which helped with all the necessary logistics.
