Houseplants: Peace Lily Care Tips – What To Do If Your Plant Has Wilted Or Brown Leaves

Peace lilies or spathiphyllum are a popular houseplant that is often spotted in offices and homes. The plant has air purifying qualities and can increase humidity levels in your home, which will help you breathe easier. The plant is also said to absorb mold spores which can cause allergies.
Not only does the plant have health benefits, it also looks stunning with lush green leaves and delicate white flowers.
However, peace lilies, like many other houseplants, can start to look a little sad when the weather changes and if not properly cared for.
Some of the ways people can make their plants unhappy is by watering them improperly and not giving them enough sunlight.
Home Depot houseplant expert Eileen shared her tips for caring for peace lilies.

The peace lily is best suited to low light conditions, so place it in a room with indirect sunlight.
“If it’s exposed to direct sunlight, it can burn easily and the leaves will turn brown. “
Another reason that the leaves on your peace lily may look wilted is how often you water.
With peace lilies, overwatering can often be more harmful than watering.
Fortunately, you can simply cut the leaves and spray them to improve their condition.
Eileen added, “Just cut off the brown part, consider spraying the plant several times a week or adding it to a gravel pit.
“I just have a basic tray with gravel.
“I put water on top and place the plant [on it]. “
