Jasmine Davis quit ‘The Chi’ after ‘fake’ vaccine dossier: source

Actress Jasmine Davis quit the Showtime series “The Chi” after allegedly faking a vaccination record, Page Six reported.
Davis, 30, has so far remained silent on the exact reasons for her departure from the tv show, but on Tuesday she tweeted that she planned to say why she had to leave “This very toxic environment.”
However, sources told Page Six that producers at 20th Television discovered that Davis, who played salon owner Imani, had submitted a fake Covid vaccination card. This would have prompted the studio to open an investigation.
“Jasmine applied for a vaccination waiver when she submitted a vaccination card for the previous season,” an insider said. “It sparked an investigation and Jasmine subsequently left the show.”
A representative for Davis did not respond to a request for comment.
Davis, an openly transgender actress, announced her exit in April ahead of the fifth season of “The Chi.”
She told fans her reasons for leaving were due to “personal misfortune”, later tweeting: “4 2 years I was bullied 4 being on a show that was kind of a nightmare and the moment i clap instagram flags my comment as harassing them for trying to harass me on my page, its unfair that they can come to my page and say anything without consequences.
When asked if the studio and Showtime had any records of Davis complaining about a toxic work environment, a source insisted there were none, saying, “All of Jasmine’s comments are simply retaliation.”
Davis chose to come out as trans while appearing on the Lena Waithe-created series, which is set on the South Side of Chicago.
She told Ebony, “I was probably getting more love than hate, but the hate was so directed and so strong and in my face.”
Still, she added, “I am happy to live my truth. I am happy to be able to inspire others to be what they want to be. I am happy to be able to represent my LGBTQ+ community and only my black community in general. »
