“The creation of adaptation cards was the starting point of this project in the classroom”, Ellen Hales class teacher mentionned. âI am a big advocate for mental health and recognized that our learners needed a boost after everything they had been through during the pandemic. Getting fresh air, spending time with family and friends, creating uplifting playlists, coloring, playing board games, and getting creative with Play-Doh are just a few of the strategies kids can play. shared with Kingdom staff as they encouraged adults to be more aware of how they are feeling.
Lee Waugh, Principal of North Queensferry Elementary Schoolsaid: âThe kids really enjoyed sharing their learning and work with the adults at Kingdom. This is something they usually wouldn’t get the chance to do and they were thrilled to have the chance to participate. Being able to recognize when they are feeling down and when they need help is really important for children and this work has had a really positive impact on their learning.
Bill Banks, Managing Director of the Kingdom Group, added: âIt was a real treat to watch the video produced by the students of North Queensferry Elementary School. As adults, we can learn a lot from the coping strategies they explained to us.
