SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – A woman’s encounter with a man accused of spying on his 12-year-old daughter goes viral.
Salt Lake City police arrested Jorge Leon-Alfaro, 36, after witnesses said he attempted to register the girl in an adjacent locker room inside the 21 Street store in Brickyard Plaza on Saturday, according to KSTU.
The girl’s mother tracked down the man and recorded her comments about him as she waited for police to arrive.
“This is what a predator looks like,” the woman explains in the video. “I caught this guy under my daughter’s stall as she was changing at St. 21.”
The emotional video uploaded to Facebook has been viewed over four million times.
“Not today, mate. Not today, ”the woman said in the video. “I’ll make sure your face comes out, so you’re not in the stalls looking under little girls’ clothes.”
Salt Lake City Police said they have witness statements and enough evidence to make an arrest.
“People are aware of what’s going on and are paying attention,” said Detective Greg Wilking of the Salt Lake City Police Department. “Other people were also paying attention and saw similar things concerning them which led to his arrest.”
Léon-Alfaro faces charges of the crime of voyeurism on a child under the age of 14.
“I will be at every court appointment,” the woman said in the video.
Police could not confirm whether Leon-Alfaro had ever been arrested for this type of crime.
