Salt and Sacrifice announced, will launch on PlayStation 5 and PC next year – TheSixthAxis
Ska Studios and Devoured Studios have unveiled Salt and Sacrifice, the next installment in the Soulslike platformer Salt and Sanctuary series. Here’s more about the game:
In Alterstone Kingdom, captured criminals face two choices for their punishment: death or service. Most opt for execution, but a few brave choose to live in penance as Marked Inquisitors. These wandering evildoers hunt evil mages, devouring their hearts to prevent them from further terrorizing the realm.
Customize the Crime, Appearance, and Class of a Marked Inquisitor. Choose from one of eight starting classes – Highblade, Paladin, Assassin, Cleric, Dualist, Fighter, Ranger, or Sage – then participate in the Rite Magebane. Drink the sacred drink, speak the words and step out of the Spellmarked rite, in a state of flux between life and death. Freed from deadly fears, the Inquisitors swear to spill the blood of the Magi to end their cruelty.
Prepare for every excursion to Pardoner’s Vale, a hub filled with friendly inquisitors. Set out and travel through eerie villages, mortuary temples, and swampy kingdoms in single player or drop-in online co-op. Find clues and hunt down over 20 types of mages, including Scorching Pyromancers, Toxic Venomancers, and Vile Corpumancers. Wield and chase grappling hooks, then kill them in brawler-style side-scrolling combat.
Loot the remnants of mages to craft new equipment with the runic arts, granting Inquisitors unprecedented new abilities. Search every decrepit nook across multiple maps for powerful melee weapons, lethal ranged weapons, and protective armor and charms. Join multiplayer factions, including the co-operative Order of the Dawn and the player-killing Shroud Alliance.
Ska Studios brings back its hand-drawn look, giving each candle-lit cave and misty forest a personal touch. The vast bestiary features over 100 monsters, many of which are inspired by Scandinavian folklore. James Silva’s haunting score injects a sense of foreboding throughout the journey.
