The Real Health Podcast: Five Tips for Healthier Eating with Catherine Fulvio

On this week’s show, it’s all about breaking out of the food rut you’re stuck in and giving yourself inspiration to cook delicious, healthy meals.
Catherine Fulvio, chef at allyknocken television, is here with her five top tips for healthier eating.
Catherine has lots of ideas on how to inject flavor into your meals as well as some simple ideas on how to get creative.
“ It’s very disconcerting to see Instagram photos of perfect refrigerators with nothing but glass boxes of breakfasts, lunches and dinners – it’s too inaccessible for most. To be honest, I don’t want to know on a Sunday what’s for next Saturday’s dinner! And is it still fresh? So my best advice: split it up to twice a week, that way you can be responsive to what’s in the fridge so there’s no food waste. Prepare your meal on a Sunday and Wednesday.
Catherine strongly believes in instilling healthy eating habits in children that will stay with them for life.
“ I think as they get older the kids can take on the role of cooking dinner once a week for the family. In addition, as they become teenagers, they become more aware of their nutrition. If they know about food, they will know what is good for their body, for their strength, for the skin, hair, nails – everything that is important to a teenager. Plus, it’s a life skill when they go to college.
