Toxic pool chemicals spill stops pavement after accident

PALM HARBOR, FL – The intersection of Belcher Road and Nebraska Avenue has reopened following a chemical spill.
Pinellas County Sheriff’s Hazardous Materials crews were called in to clean up a toxic chemical spill at the intersection of Belcher Road and Nebraska Avenue.
The spill occurred just before noon on Friday when a vehicle collided with a truck from a pool company, spilling 50 gallons of chlorine and two gallons of hydrochloric acid on the road. No watercourse was affected.
