The restaurateurs: can you all please decide to be 100% open or 100% driving? It’s extremely frustrating to go to stores one day and be allowed in and the next day it’s closed. This staff shortage won’t go away until the incentives are better, so you might as well adjust to the time!
I do not understand why we did not unite against our common enemy, the Covid-19. No one is safe from this deadly virus. We are all in the same boat.
What event could crater our local economy crippled and put us on a national map to be avoided at all costs? : 1. a train wreck triggering a toxic radioactive cloud? 2. A toxic spill rendering the Colorado River useless? 3. a national designation of being the # 1 low vax county? Answer: # 3 is already here and expect Happy Valley to receive a red flag to avoid. High-five yourself while you cough incessantly.
We do not need more fast food places on Patterson or anywhere else in Grand Junction. If you want fast food on every corner, go to Denver or another big city. Please newcomers don’t bring your big city attitudes to Grand Junction.
It’s high time county and city leaders are implementing a non-agricultural watering restriction program. Even / odd addresses on certain days of the week and fines for non-compliance!
I find it sad that the Grand Junction Police Department does not have enough officers to patrol the traffic that is desperately needed with all the speeding and red light operations in Grand Junction. But, they can have four cops in an ATV on the River Front Trail on a Tuesday morning, appearing to be doing nothing but talking about personal matters.
Reading on the shortage of rental housing in the Grande Vallée and I wonder how many units are unoccupied much of the year while waiting for vacationers. Raise and apply the fees on vacation rentals, then use them to provide affordable housing.
Thanks to those restaurants that provide a safer dining choice to those who feel the need, by being part of Mesa County’s 5-Star Program and following required safety practices. Thank you also to restaurants that choose not to meet all of the 5 Star Program requirements and are honest enough not to be included in the 5 Star Program. Too many restaurants are taking advantage of free advertising by signing up for 5 stars, but have no intention of meeting security requirements.
Airlines, you could have fewer problems with abusive passengers if you don’t sell alcohol. Alcohol is not required on planes.
What happened to the gorgeous, colorful moving sculpture that adorned the Orchard Mesa side of the Riverside Parkway entrance? It was such a beautiful and captivating piece that added so much to the entrance! Please put it back in its original home … the folks at Orchard Mesa loved it and we miss our “eye candy”!
it appears to me that the problem with anti-vaccines is that they don’t have a skin in the game.
What a genius with the City of Grand Junction approved the installation of the 43 pedestal lights along the Dos Rios section of the Riverfront Trail? Young criminals will overthrow them in a few days or less. My bet is that they will all be destroyed and gone within 6 months. That $ 50,000 or $ 60,000 would have been better spent repairing the irrigation systems of the endangered turf fields in Las Colonias. It’s just taxpayers’ money; We do not care?
I was at thrift store last week and I was wearing a mask. I had the vaccine 2 months ago. I saw two friends. They are my age: retired. They weren’t wearing masks. I asked them when they got the vaccine. They said never! We don’t believe in the vaccine. What? This is the stupidest reason I have ever heard. I’ll scream, “I told you!” when they get sick.
